I’m not a soup person. Even when I’m sick or have dental issues I find the whole notion of liquified food to be somewhat preposterous. I’m not an infant or an old person and my teeth are fine – the ones that I still have anyway – so why would I derive any pleasure from edible hot wetness?
My anti-soup crusade has served me well for years.
And then Becky introduced me to this recipe from Epicurious (by way of Bon Appétit): Cheese Tortellini Soup with Cannellini, Kielbasa, and Kale.
Kale is a fad, this soup is not.
This soup is what God would eat if God ate soup. In fact, this Soup is so good that the “s” should be capitalized.

There was a pizza place in Seattle that had wicked good Linguica pizza. I can’t remember the name of it. Of course, I was into linguica before linguica was a thing…

the Xtreme pizza in hillsboro, regardless of its unfortunate name, has a linquica pizza that I love…and they’re such a fad, they made it their name.

I’ve been eating kale before kale was a fad.
I’m quite sure I’ll be eating kale when everyone else has moved on to the Next Big Fad.

Isn’t that what everyone says when they’re following a fad? I’m pretty sure I remember myself saying “Oh yeah?! Well I was playing Pac-Man before Pac-Man was even a thing!” and “Oh yeah?! Well I was into Nirvana before Nirvana was even a thing!” and (my personal favorite) “Oh yeah?! Well I was in Seattle before Seattle was even a thing!”
Or maybe it’s just me…
